Karen joined the Farm as Director on 27 April 2015 after 20 years in the university sector in South Wales as a senior leader responsible for generating income, building links with external partners and supporting students to develop skills for the workplace. With a degree in Accountancy and a Masters in Business Administration, she has extensive experience of financial management, strategic development and marketing. In addition, she has worked for small companies in Cardiff, London and Sydney, Australia as a team leader focussed on delivering excellent customer service.
Karen has also served as Director for the Gwent Independent Film Trust and for Newport and Gwent Enterprise and was selected through the Welsh Government’s Public Appointments Process to be a specialist advisor to the All Wales Programme Monitoring Committee for the European Structural Funds in Wales for the period 2007-2015.
When she married the Reverend Stewart Lisk in 1997 she decided to retain the use of her maiden name. They have two daughters and live in Roath, Cardiff. Karen has been actively involved in fundraising for the Church both in the parishes of Ely and in Roath and also leads the Sunday School team of volunteers. To relax, Karen enjoys fitness classes at the gym and yoga studio, watching rugby and camping in the Great British countryside.
