Visit Amelia Trust Farm during May Half Term

Come and see our new café this May Half Term!

We’re delighted to say that during May Half Term, our fabulous new Green Leaf Café will be open at the Farm! The Green Leaf Café is our new community café with improved disabled access, a changing places toilet facility, and a lovely menu for you to enjoy. Fuel up for your outdoor adventure with a delicious coffee, tasty panini, or maybe a yummy slice of cake. Come and see our new menu, meet the team, and see our brand new café.

If you’ve never visited us before, you’ll find our Care Farm just off Five Mile Lane in Barry. There’s plenty of parking, and we are a Farm setting, so please remember to wear suitable shoes and clothing.

When you visit, you’ll be able to play in our outdoor park, see our little fluffy animals in the Animal Centre, say hello to our larger animals in the outdoor paddocks, and explore our beautiful semi-ancient woodland. There are trails to discover, wildlife to spot, and a seasonal trail to try to solve!

Amelia Trust Farm Visits

Farm visits begin at 10am every day and our last entry is at 2pm. We ask all visitors to be offsite by 4:30pm. Entry to the Farm (when pre-booked) costs £4.95 per person including a donation, or £4.50 per person without a donation. We also offer group tickets for 4 people at discounted prices.

The money we receive from ticket sales goes back into helping us run the GROW programme for local teenagers, take care of our animals, and keep the Farm open for everyone to enjoy.

Nature Day at Amelia Trust Farm during May Half Term

On Thursday 30th May, we’ll be holding a Nature Day at Amelia Trust Farm. As well as the chance to enjoy our lovely Care Farm and woodland, we’ll have some extra activities going on during Nature Day, including:

  • Meet the Small Animals
A member of our Animal Care team will be in the Animal Centre to tell you more about our small animals, including our rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, degus, and of course, our reptiles
  • Guided Woodland Walks
You’ll be able to join in with a guided woodland walk, where you’ll find out more about the creatures that crawl, fly, can call the woodland home
  • Get Crafty
Get stuck in to a nature themed craft in the Field Study Centre (opposite reception)
  • Learn about Beavers!
Beaver experts will be at the Farm to tell you all about these wonderful creatures. Get involved in their activities, ask any questions, and find out about how beavers will help nature recover in Wales.

During Nature Day we want to encourage all of our visitors to enjoy spending time outside, seeing the animals, and having fun in the fresh air.

Be a Farmer during May Half Term

Our Be a Farmer activity is for 8 to 12 year olds who love spending time with animals! During the activity, children will get the chance to feed, look after, and interact with lots of our lovely animals including our fluffy bunnies, cheeky ferrets, lovely donkeys, and funny alpacas.

The 4 hour Be a Farmer activity is always incredibly popular and we often have repeat customers. Children spend the full 4 hours with a member of our Animal Care team, giving them a personalised and really special experience. Each ticket costs £39 and spaces are limited so please be quick to avoid disappointment.
