Lisa Cordery Bruce

Lisa has been a nurse for over 20 years, starting off in Medicine with a specialism in HIV, before becoming a Midwife at Llandough Hospital and then UHW. Lisa’s interest in adolescent development led to her undertaking an MSc in Specialist community public health nurse public health nursing (School aged children). Lisa is currently studying for her doctorate and looking at the early intervention and prevention of mental health issues in School Aged Children.

Lisa worked as a School Nurse but now is an emotional wellbeing specialist nurse. Another part of Lisa’s work for the Health Board requires that she embed Children’s Rights into their values and daily practice. Lisa developed a Children and Young Peoples Health Charter and has set up a Youth Board to ensure children and young people have a say in decisions which affect them.

Lisa firmly believes in the values of Amelia Trust Farm and the fantastic work which is done to help children and young people. The Farm embraces the robust evidence base of the Adverse Childhood Experiences research to make a real difference to young lives at a key time. Young people are encouraged to thrive and are given a sense of belonging at the farm. Lisa supports and celebrates the work wholeheartedly. She is also a Trustee for Pride Cymru.
