COED WHITTON
The Woodland at Amelia Trust Farm is a special place, with broadleaved remnant ancient woodland including ash, oak, hazel and field maple. Conifer plantation and more recently planted native woodland make up the remainder, with the Nant Whitton stream running through the valley at the bottom. It is a wonderful place to spend some time wandering the network of pathways, birdwatching in one of the hides, spotting flowers and funghi, or simply forest bathing at one of our quiet sit spots. Coed Whitton is part of the National Forest of Wales.
Explore
Come and explore our network of paths which help you discover different parts of the woodland. A long, accessible, wheel-friendly path takes you all the way to the large hide overlooking the pond. Branching off from this are our wild woodland trails which are rougher under foot – great fun for the adventurous and with plenty to spot along the way! Please be aware that we sometimes need to close the woodland during high winds or essential management works.
Learn
The Coed Whitton Outdoor Classroom project is funded by the National Heritage Lottery’s Woodland Investment Grant. Through this we are creating learning zones, educational resources, volunteer opportunities and events, as well as making improvements to the woodland for biodiversity. Keep an eye on our social media for latest developments. Ask at reception for a self-guided tour pack, binocular hire and trail packs for children.

We hold nature-based events in the woodland year-round, with something for everyone! Storytime in the trees, woodland crafts, guided walks, surveying and volunteer days.
