We have officially opened our brand-new outdoor playground, designed to bring joy to children thanks to grants from the National Lottery Community Fund and the Morrisons Foundation.
The playground, designed and installed by Phoenix Play, features two amazing climbing towers, slides, a new set of swings, basket swing, and a happy hangout. The company worked closely with us to ensure the equipment would meet the needs of the local community and provide a stimulating environment for visitors. Before the new equipment could be built, staff and volunteers helped dismantle the existing play area, ensuring the site was prepared for construction. Their hands-on effort played a vital role in bringing the project to life.

The new facility at the Farm was unveiled on Friday 24th October 2025, marking an exciting new chapter in our ongoing mission to create welcoming spaces for the community.
“It is incredibly important to us that Amelia Trust is providing services needed by the local community, so we consulted with a wide range of people about what equipment they wanted. It is great for families, school and nursery groups to enjoy the benefits of playing outdoors and now we have some fantastic new equipment at the Farm,” commented Karen Turnbull, CEO of Amelia Trust.
Local schools and families were invited to the opening celebration along with special guests Josh Andrews and Kally Davies from Capital FM. The radio presenters joined in with the celebrations by speaking to visitors and taking the opportunity to enjoy the new space themselves.
The new playground was made possible thanks to funding from the Morrisons Foundation, which supports charities and community projects. Pam, Morrisons Barry Community Champion, attended the opening to see the finished space and celebrate with local families. She said “The Morrisons Foundation is about supporting charities in the local community. It’s lovely to see how the funds we have raised have been used, and I hope this playground brings happiness to children and families for years to come”.
We are open every day to welcome visitors to the Farm and all the money we raise from entrance fees helps to support the life-changing work of the charity.
