Happy new year everyone! We hope you had a peaceful and relaxed Christmas, and you’re looking forward to the year ahead.
As we move into 2022 and Christmas celebrations start to feel like a distant memory, don’t let the January blues take hold! Make some time to wrap up warm, pull on your boots or wellies, and get outside to breathe in the fresh air.
Spending time outdoors can dramatically improve your mood and help you feel refreshed and revived. Whether you need something to take your mind off the working day, or you want an activity that the whole family can do together, try getting outside as often as you can and start having adventures in nature.
Being outside can help reduce stress levels, help you feel more connected to nature, and of course, it’s a great way to stay fit and active.
With so many fantastic places to visit in South Wales from beaches and nature reserves to parks, gardens, and woodlands, there really is no reason not to get out there and enjoy our little corner of the world.
Winter Walk Inspiration
Last year, the Woodland Trust shared some great ideas for Fun Winter Walks, and this year, they’ve shared a brilliant article about spotting Winter Wildlife.
Don’t forget, the Farm is open all year round and our woodland is perfect for exploring during any season. Just remember that sensible shoes are essential, especially during the winter when the ground can be muddy. Our Winter Farm visit tickets are just £3 per person (or £3.30 with gift aid) and all of the money from ticket sales goes back into our charity. Every penny really does make a difference.
So the next time you start to feel a little low, grab your coat, throw your front door open wide, and go for a stomp in your local woodland!
