Our Carpentry Workshop has recently been upgraded thanks to support from the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Who uses the Carpentry Workshop at Amelia Trust Farm?
A variety of different groups use the carpentry workshop at the Farm, including the young people on our GROW programme, a local community woodwork club, and service users of Woody’s Lodge (one of the other charities based at the Farm).
The workshop gives our young people the opportunity to learn how to use specialist equipment, design and create something from scratch, and work together to produce a finished product. All of these skills are incredibly important for building confidence and improving their understanding of different trades.
New and Improved Workshop Equipment
Our carpentry workshop is in constant use and some of the equipment wasn’t suitable and needed updating. Thanks to the People’s Postcode Lottery, we were able to buy new equipment including: a table saw, dust extractor, and foot switches. All of which will improve users experience in the workshop.
Thank you People’s Postcode Lottery!
Volunteers have already used the new equipment to make our Summer Sunflower Trail and we know it will get plenty of use in the future.
