Volunteer Christmas Lunch 2022

Every year, we hold a Volunteer Christmas lunch to say thank you to our wonderful volunteers for their hard work. Our Christmas Lunch is also when we present the Ethel Huggard Volunteer of the Year award.

After a couple of years without being able to hold our Christmas lunch at Christmas (we held the 2021 lunch in the summer of 2022!), it was fantastic to get everyone together to celebrate the festive season. Our volunteer Christmas Lunch for 2022 was on Monday 19th December.

As ever, we are very grateful to the Huggard Charitable Trust for funding our annual volunteer lunch.

The team at the Three Horseshoes looked after us well, and provided a delicious 3 course meal. The pub itself felt very festive, and there was lots of chatter and good cheer.

As well as the chance to catch up, eat delicious food, and pull a few crackers, the lunch was an opportunity for new volunteers to meet. Some of our volunteers are at the Farm on specific days and rarely crossover. Getting to know everyone is all part of the fun at Amelia Trust!

The Ethel Huggard Volunteer of the Year Award 2022

The Volunteer of the Year Award for 2022 was given to a trio: Linn, Sian, and Brandon. Linn, Sian, and Brandon are regular volunteers at the Farm who help with a variety of different tasks. The trio get involved in gardening and maintenance, as well as pretty much anything else! The three musketeers are also responsible for our adorable Gnome Man’s Land and Gnome Home: both of which help to add an extra touch of magic to Amelia Trust.

This year, they’ve also been a huge help in decorating the Farm for events, including our October Half Term spooky events, and our Christmas festivities.

Rev. Dr Stephen Wigley, our Chair of Trustees, presented the award to a very surprised Linn, Sian and Brandon!

Finishing 2022 with our Volunteer Christmas Lunch

All of our volunteers are incredible and Amelia Trust Farm simply wouldn’t be the same without them. It was fantastic to mark the end of the year with such a lovely celebration.
